Relaxing the Body

It is well known how stress affects the body and ultimately the mind. Emotional stress (which occurs in the psyche) always turns into physical stress, and physical stress always turns into emotional stress. Often, people are unable to recognize the physical signals that indicate the body is tense and needs to relax. Signs of tension in our body include headaches, neck pain, lower back pain, jaw pain, shoulder pain, twitching, muscle cramps, stomach aches, and teeth grinding. However, other processes in the body can also threaten our long-term health. When the body is tense, cholesterol levels rise, blood clots more quickly, the stomach produces more acid, and blood pressure increases. We can do a lot for our health if we learn to Recognise tension in our body and, upon noticing it, relax and rest.
