Many employees engaged in various jobs nowadays are burdened with too much work that they cannot complete during working hours. Many teachers continue to work at home on materials that are not solely related to teaching (preparations, grading tests, etc.), as well as tasks they have in addition to their regular jobs (proofreading school newspapers, organising cultural festivals, etc.). Sometimes, it is very difficult to organise work (despite setting priorities) in a way that allows it to be fully completed within working hours. However, if you are aware that it is better to sacrifice only one evening a week instead of four, it will be easier for you to say “no” to additional tasks, and you will be able to dedicate less time to tasks that are not important to you. Our advice is to write down on your priority list how many extra hours per week you are willing to work, and try to complete your tasks and obligations within the time allotted for work.
Focus on one task and turn off all devices that disrupt your concentration for better efficiency. It would also be good not to do any work-related activities after working hours. This will be easier if you turn off your work email and make yourself unavailable for work calls.
